Philadelphia 76ers First Half Win Streak Extended to 67

A relaxed attitude and calm demeanor has contributed to the 76ers setting a record 67 game first-half winning streak.

Jumping out to a 13 point lead early in the first quarter, lead by a balanced offense and significant production from bench players, the Philadelphia 76ers finessed their way to a convincing 56-42 halftime lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers, cementing their 67th first half win in a row.

"We're more than a team during the first half of games this year, we're a family," claimed point guard Andre Miller. "We may fight sometimes in practice, but so do brothers. We're tight."

Former Sixers point guard and current head coach, Maurice Cheeks, credits the team's consistent first half wins to a talented coaching staff, and players that are dedicated to winning the first half of every game.

Coach Maurice Cheeks explains his team's partial winning attitude to the media.
"These guys work just as hard in the first half of practice as they do during the first half of games," Cheeks told reporters during the post-game interview. "They don't stop playing after the first quarter. They know the first half of any game is 24 minutes long. They play just as hard in the last 2 minutes of the half as they do in the first 2. You can't teach that kind of first half work ethic."

The team hopes to continue this partial win streak into the post-season, where they feel their momentum could take them deep into the first half of the first round of the NBA playoffs.

"I know we could do some damage in the first half of game 1, maybe even game 2 or 3," stated Andre Iguodala. "We're on fire in the first half of games this year. We may be down after 1, but they'd better watch out in the second quarter. We flat out own teams in the second quarter."
